Top 2012 Flooring Trends

It’s a new year, so out with the old, in with the new, right? The flooring trends we saw in 2011 have all changed since entering 2012. Most notably, carpeting hasn’t made the list (though, as we’ve said before, if you are a die-hard carpet enthusiast, adding a floor rug atop tile or hardwood floors can many times do the trick). What’s in this year? Tiles and hardwood floors top the list off, with new styles that are both fashionable and functional.

Scraped (or worn) hardwood

It seems that even with the arrival of the new year, we keep returning to the old, and not just old, but somewhere in the realm of vintage. Scraped hardwood-flooring caries the air of time and loving use, while maintaining the elegance of a wood-finished floor. Authentically aged flooring can sometimes seem delicate, and too fragile to hold up against every day use. The solution? hand scraped wood flooring. Hand scraping the wood maintains the strength and endurance in the boards, that way you don’t have to worry about it after everyday use!

Porcelain Tile

Tile has always been a trend throughout the years. The difference this year? Now the tile is porcelain. On top of the sleek, elegant look porcelain tile adds to the room, it also excels in the areas of durability, budget pleasing and can match any aesthetic of your choosing.
